LTD. (Pacific Engineering Management Company), founded in 1984, provides technical
services in the fields of Engineering & Construction, Facilities Operating
& Maintenance, and Real Estate Management Services throughout Hawaii, Pacific
Islands, Asia, and Mainland USA.
Clients include both private sector companies and building owners and public sector governmental agencies and institutions. Projects include studies, investigations, design, construction, operating and maintenance services.
Built on a 16 year history of exemplary service throughout the Pacific, the company continues to move forward in its pursuit of excellence in all aspects of our business, and has been honored with many awards.

MANAGEMENT
The company's management has over 100 years of experience in the fields of design, engineering, construction, operations and maintenance. They have served as officers and directors for large architecture, engineering and construction management companies; and possess certifications including Registered Professional Engineer (PE), Board Certified Environmental Engineer, RME, Real Estate Broker, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and MBA's. PEMCO, Ltd. is composed of experienced and highly trained professionals whose technical capabilities and management expertise underlie the innovative and high quality service offered to every customer. Profiles of our staff that includes engineers, construction managers, technicians, inspectors, realtors, and administrative personnel are available upon request. PEMCO, Ltd.'s internal management is complemented by Strategic Partners located in Hawaii, the "mainland" United States, Japan and Guam.
HISTORY
After a successful engineering and management career, John Yamamoto decided to make Hawaii his permanent home and founded PEMCO, Ltd. in 1984. With a Base operating contract for the US Navy in Pearl Harbor and handful of cherished clients, PEMCO, Ltd.'s history began. Supporting the wave of investment in Hawaii during the 1980's, PEMCO, Ltd. provided the engineering & construction management services to over $400 million in development construction, and over 300 engineering studies & investigations.
In the early 1990's as "out sourcing" became attractive for many organizations, PEMCO, Ltd. expanded its services to include Facilities Maintenance & Repair and Operations support services. In addition to servicing numerous private clients, the company won and has successfully completed many multi-year contracts with the US Department of Defense.
To meet the changing needs of our clients, the company broadened its Engineering services to include Environmental Engineering. To assure state-of -art services to clients, PEMCO, Ltd. then entered into strategic partnering agreements with the finest environmental engineering companies in the United States.
The US Department of HUD began outsourcing the management of its "troubled" properties, which required foreclosure. Coupling it's strength in facilities maintenance with management innovation; PEMCO, Ltd. began it's Real Estate Management Services. This has expanded from repairing and maintaining over 1,100 single-family units, to managing the entire administrative process including the "on-line" marketing of the properties. PEMCO, Ltd. has received letters of commendation for their quality of service by HUD.
PEMCO, Ltd. continues "Moving Forward": In 2000 John Yamamoto was nominated by Ernst & Young for ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR, the company purchased a building for it's Corporate Headquarters, and strengthened its information systems & management team. For PEMCO, Ltd., it's best years are still to come!
